Close connection between public transport infrastructure and operation
The merger of the two provincial companies OÖ Verkehrsverbund Gesellschaft and Schiene OÖ under the umbrella of OÖ Verkehrsholding will further advance the comprehensive expansion of climate-friendly mobility in Upper Austria. The close integration of the two companies creates the ideal conditions for strengthening alternative mobility services alongside the expansion of traditional public transport and consistently promoting the intermodal networking of all forms of mobility.
OÖ Verkehrsverbund - Organisations GmbH Nfg. & Co KG (OÖVG)
OÖ Verkehrsverbund Gesellschaft (OÖVG) is the coordinator, mediator, networker and point of contact for all public transport in Upper Austria as well as the organiser and client for the regional public transport services in the province. OÖVG has the statutory task of ensuring that the population of Upper Austria is provided with a needs-based, qualitatively and quantitatively optimised local and regional public transport service. In terms of its public service obligation, OÖVG focuses on the best possible fulfilment of the mobility needs of all Upper Austrians.
Schiene OÖ GmbH & Co KG
Schiene OÖ GmbH & Co KG is a subsidiary of OÖ Verkehrsholding GmbH and is responsible for various infrastructures for local and regional public transport in Upper Austria. It plans and builds public transport infrastructures in the province, then operates and maintains them. Schiene OÖ thus plays a key role in the continuous expansion of climate-friendly mobility in Upper Austria.
